How to look your best on the big day – 3 hints and tips

When it comes to your wedding photos, we know that you want to look your very best. So what can you do to ensure that? Here are three hints from our wedding photographer on looking amazing in your photographs.

1. Pay attention to good dressing

There are several useful tailoring tips you can follow – for instance, did you know that adding pleats onto your trousers gives you an impression of bulkiness? Carefully choose what you are going to wear for your wedding and make sure to try it on and get several opinions beforehand to ensure that you are happy with it.

Also, take advantage of alteration services! If you like the general colour or material of a dress but it is not quite your size, do not discard it. A good tailor, dressmaker, or even dry cleaner will be able to alter it quickly so that it seems made for you.

2. Think about your colour scheme

It can look great when all the ushers have the same coloured roses in their lapels. Matching shoes, hair accessories, and even dresses can all create a truly stunning effect in a wedding photograph. So sit down and think for a while about the overall effect of your colour scheme on your wedding. This is particularly important for couples who want to have several group photos, with the married couple in the middle and their best man, ushers, bridesmaids, and family standing to the side.

3. Practice posing together

It may seem counter-intuitive, but in order to look natural on your big day, you might like to spend some time practising your poses. Don’t be shy! Planning how you are going to stand or smile at key moments of the ceremony can be fun.

However, we know that very often, emotions can get the better of you at a wedding. Our wedding photographers in Leeds will always find the best angle from which to take an amazing shot.
